So I was on retreat with the Rutgers CSA over the weekend. The theme was “Totally Yours,” based off Pope Saint John Paul II’s motto, Totus Tuus. Overall the first day was fun. Small groups were cool. The talks were quite emotional in terms of trusting and believing in God. It’s good when the talks are able to articulate the faith in such a way that people are moved; otherwise, it just seems like a huge praise and worship event.
Collect: Show gracious favor, O Lord, we pray, to the works of penance we have begun, that we may have strength to accomplish with sincerity the bodily observances we undertake. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Considering the timing of the retreat and the theme, it definitely was a good way for us to reflect on how to totally immerse one’s self this Lenten season.
