Lent Day 7: Thy Will be Done

Collect: Look upon your family, Lord, that, through the chastening effects of bodily discipline, our minds may be radiant in your presence with the strength of our yearning for you.

The Gospel reading for Mass today was the institution of the Lord’s Prayer. If there is anything I learned over the years, it is that praying out of desire is never fruitful. Praying out of thanks is always good, as is praying in mourning and praying that the Lord’s will be done through one’s self. What that will is, well, is why the Lord’s Prayer is there.

Overall, today was a good day. Class, work, then spirit night. Always gotta do that plug in about the Extraordinary Form. No shame there. Then of course, quality time with friends afterwards. It’s always awesome meeting business majors who are practicing Catholics because that’s a rarity here. Well, time to catch up on rest.
