Late Stuff: Lent Day 19, Third Sunday of Lent (Part 2)

After Divine Liturgy, I went to the last meeting for the spring break trip next week. I will be going to Tampa to serve the homeless, so we’ll see how that goes.

After the meeting, I went back home to pick up my brother so we can prepare some Palestrina for the 8 pm Mass. It’s not all the time you hear Palestrina at a Novus Ordo. It’s also not all the time you hear Palestrina and then a guitar at the same Mass. Well, anything for a fuller implementation of Musica Sacram I suppose. One day, Latin will make a resurgence.

Anyway, Father J gave another rousing homily. Similar to the homily I heard the day prior on the Prodigal Son, the homily on the Samaritan Woman was on being open to God’s grace. God came to save all, and all we have to do is be open to that grace.

After Mass, we went out to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was a nice end of the weekend.

We are almost halfway there through Lent. Have a blessed one.
