Collect: O God, who have called us to participate in this most sacred Supper, in which your Only Begotten Son, when about to hand himself over to death, entrusted to the Church a sacrifice new for all eternity, the banquet of his love, grant, we pray, that we may draw from so great a mystery, the fullness of charity and of life.
Here we are. The Paschal Triduum. These 3 days are the most important days of our Catholic faith.
We see the institution of the priesthood and the institution of the Eucharist. We see Christ’s love for us, embodied in his total giving of himself for us to consume, so that we may have God within us. We see him mandate that we must love one another as he loved us. This means that if God can give himself totally up for us, then we must do the same for each other.
The Catholic life is not easy. We must love, no matter what others may do to us.
We are almost there.
